Walkthrough

Five steps to Desk in Slack.

  1. Press Add to Slack

A Desk admin approves Magemcy Desk for your Slack workspace. This is all it asks for.

    Add to Slack
What Magemcy Desk asks Slack for
Its Slack permissions in plain words. You approve them once, in Slack.

    It can see

    • Your public channels, and the private ones you invite it to
    • Messages in the channels it is in
    • Messages people send it directly
    • Messages that mention it
    • Emoji reactions, to spot :ticket:
    • People's names and email addresses

    It can do

    • Add /desk and the “Create a Desk ticket” shortcut
    • Join the public channels you pick
    • Post ticket cards, replies and status lines, with the agent's name on a reply
    • Mark a message it turned into a ticket with :ticket:
  2. Pick a triage channel

One per project. New tickets from every channel arrive there with Assign to me and Solve.

  3. Add request channels Optional

Every new message in one becomes a ticket, answered in its thread.

  4. Create tickets anywhere

Type /desk, use “Create a Desk ticket” on a message, or react with :ticket: for a private offer. Nothing is filed until you send the form.

  5. Keep talking in the thread

Replies in the thread reach your team. Their replies and status changes come back.

What your team gets

Help where people already talk.

  • No seat to ask

Anyone in your Slack can raise a ticket.

  • One queue

Slack tickets sit beside email and web ones.

  • Triage from a card

Assign and solve without leaving Slack.

  • One history

Every reply lands on the ticket.

Permissions and privacy

Only what it needs.

Desk reads only the channels it is in and messages sent to it. A :ticket: reaction never files anything on its own.

  • Tokens encryptedSlack's access token is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and never shown, not even to admins.
  • One Slack workspace per DeskA Slack workspace connects to one Desk. Another company's Desk cannot claim it.
  • Notes stay internalInternal notes go to the triage channel's thread only, never to the requester's.
  • Disconnect any timeIn Settings, or by removing the app in Slack. Desk's access is revoked; tickets keep their history.
